Tomorrow night I’m attending the 17th Annual Young Trailblazers Gala for Live Out Loud. It is being held at the The Times Center in NYC. Live Out Loud is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering LGBTQ youth by connecting them with successful LGBTQ professionals in their community.
I was honored to be asked to be a part of the Development Committee this year and I happily agreed. I know the founder’s brother Stephen and his brother Leo asked me to help. Volunteering for a cause, for the one event, was a great experience. We are all so busy however when you need to find the space and time to make a difference, you can!
I attended last year’s event and I remember how much fun the Silent Auction was so that was my focus. It’s a great way to donate for an event –quietly bidding for something you want to take home! I want to thank Diana, Mick and Robin, Stephanie, Helene, Mitus, Jordana and Roberto for their support and generous gifts.
Teens have to face so much as they transition from a child to a young adult. It is a powerful time of change, physically and mentally. And being LGBTQ+Trans adds to the ultimate question: Who Am I? A question, I myself quietly and painfully struggled with…when my music career first began.
When we focus on the positive we lessen the power of the negative. Here’s the link to give a gift, any size, any time.
